IKEA Hides Its Prices. Here's Why.
"IKEA is showing off the quality of its products in a bold campaign from Mother London."
IKEA is showing off the quality of its products in a bold campaign from Mother London.
While most brands scream about discounts in January, IKEA has done something different. They celebrate the materials in their everyday products. And they hide the price.

The print and outdoor work, shot by photographer Marloes Haarmans, shows close-ups of IKEA's homeware essentials. A solid wood armchair. A 100% wool throw. Each one set against bright colour backdrops.
Every ad delivers the same punchline: "If you saw the price, you wouldn't believe…" followed by a simple truth about the product. "It's cast iron." "It's velvet."

Here is what I find interesting. When everyone else zigs, IKEA zags. They could have joined the January sale circus. Instead, they talked about something their competitors forgot existed: the actual product.
The campaign is simple. Minimal. It lets the products speak for themselves.
And that, my friend, is rather clever. Because when you have something worth saying about what you sell, you don't need to shout about price at all.
